In all seriousness I have to agree with Vitalogy I think fluoridation should be in the water, and Correct me if Im wrong but all MAJOR cities have Floridated their water, so why isn't multnomah County? My 1 year old niece cant take real toothpaste with flouride in it because it burns her mouth so she has to use kids toothpaste with no fluoride. The only place she is getting fluoride is from the water.

I've noticed issues on Sunday nights on KEX listening to Bill Cunningham. Either they play segments out-of-sequence, or they repeat segments from the previous week. I'd call the station to ask what's up, but probably, nobody would answer.

That headline was removed pretty quickly. Who knows? I lived the first 30 years of my life in Seattle, with fluoride, and never had a cavity until I moved to Alaska in '96 at age 37. I credit Seattle's fluoridation with this, however, I can't discount genetics, but really. I'm still alive approaching my 54th birthday. So I assume you can guess my opinion on this issue.

Randy, I'm certain that I have mentioned the great radio jocks out of The Windy City, either here or on another site, but I can't keep track anymore. Chicago Hall of Fame: ranked IMO 1. Larry Lujack (sarcasm, great voice, excellent timing, ability to get personal) last status: retired, after an attempted comeback in Chicago in the mid-2000's that didn't work out 2. Fred Winston (fantastic voice, odd sense of humor, ability to laugh at himself) last status: not sure, but I think some Chi-town radio in the past decade 3. John Records Landecker (perfected the mass phone bit, "boogie-check" in his case, also very off the wall humor. Last status: talk radio 4. Big Ron O'Brien (solid basics, plus a little more when you least expect it) Last status: passed away 2008 5. Bob Sirott (worked in PDX, very natural on the air, low-key but great humor) Last status: On WGN as a talker after some tv at WMAQ NBC as anchor.

Does anyone here realize what could happen if they were to tangle with such a powerful, politicized agency? People can serve time, lose their life savings and/or livelihood, or simply be wrongfully smeared. This absolutely should not be a partisan issue. As I said, Mr. Nixon was wrong to politicize this agency, as is the current administration. If politics should never be an issue, it is here. Anything else is just asking for problems. Special prosecutor, anyone? 'In my experience, a legal counsel never would believe that there was information that was appropriate for the chief of staff to know but that was inappropriate for the president to know. I live in Washington County so Ive been getting fluoride in my water. I'm glad it didn't pass for Multnomah County because I don't think the water needs to be messed with. Even with my water having fluoride in it, I still get cavities. Hmmm .....The snickers bar and Can of coke I have for breakfast every morning probably isn't helping much

I'd add KISN's Michael O'Brien to the list! Likely to be the funniest man ever to sit before a KISN microphone. The Real Don Steele was a great voice who did great radio, too. And funny, yes! Tina Delgardo is alive! A n d. . .what about Dave "Record" Stone? His passion as a DJ can still be heard in everything he does. We're lucky to still have him at work in this town (albeit online)! "Ignorance won this vote, that's for sure." For all the bitching and griping you throw at the faith community for being judgmental, you are often guilty of it, too. I voted "no" on the measure. It was based on asking questions, reading all kinds of literature and then formulating a conclusion. Hardly ignorant. Your conclusion, based on different information or maybe some of the same, was YOUR informed decision. I felt confident that Portlander's would defeat this soundly. Which they have done in the past. Now, can we use some of the money that was wasted on this campaign and begin to educate kids, and their parents, about poor eating habits that can lead to tooth decay.

In other excellent news, Martin Gonzalez was defeated. (By a big-budget opponent, but hey better than nothing.) And, for a change, we had an election that didn't revolve around abortion, guns, gay marriage, or climate change/global warming. Rather refreshing. In modern times, soft drinks, sweet snacks, and the prevalence of high fructose corn syrup have not been kind to teeth. The Master of Disaster agrees, and the State of Washington tried to do the right thing by taxing them in addition to the sales taxes they already put on said items. We all know how well that went over.
