The telegraph station was based at the Administration Building Terminal.<br /> 1964 Clackamas Broadcasters sold KGON 1520kc to Republic Broadcasters, Inc. for $980,000.<br /> 1974 KYXI became the NBC station when NBC moved from KGW where it's newscasts were not airing.<br /> 1974 Action Broadcasting Co. sold KRDR to Community Communications Corp. for $575,000.<br /> 1979 KMCM became KCYX, standing for County of Yamhill eXchange, known on the air as "K-Six".<br /> 1981 AFTRA strikers picketed KAAR 1480KHz offices in downtown Portland.<br /> 1982 KYXI 1520KHz Oregon City began airing the audio feed from (CNN 2) CNN Headline News.<br /> 1984 KGON 92.3MHz dropped the "ABC Rock Radio Network".<br /> 1985 Western-Sun, Inc. sold KSGO &amp; KGON(FM) to Ackerley Communications, Inc. for $6,750,000.<br /> 1990 KLVS signed back on the air after 18 months with a Talk format with studios at Harbor Square.<br /> 1994 APR Radio Network, carried on KOPB-FM became PRI, Public Radio International.<br /> 1995 KOPB-FM 91.5MHz began 24 hour operation, as well as the entire OPB Radio Network.<br /> 2008 Dolphin Communications, Inc. sold KUIK to Westside Radio, Inc. for $1 Million.
